About Standard Schnauzers

http://www.standardschnauzer.org/breed_info.htm

The best place to learn about Standard Schnauzers is from the Standard Schnauzer Club of America.  It is an excellent member run club that loves and supports all Standard Schnauzers.  The link is above.

If a Standard Schnauzer is relinquished to a shelter, the club immediately steps in arranges a foster home until a permanent one can located.

Many long term breeders are willing to take new SS owners under their wings to help them with grooming, training, and showing.

You cannot go wrong, if you have a Standard Schnauzer, to join the National Club.

Harmony in the Home

One of the most important things to me is harmony in my home.  I currently have 2 schnauzers and 3 cats.  Do they all like each other?   Two of the cats can't stand the dogs and my mini schnauzer hates the cats.  But they cannot fight or control who goes where and when.  It took time to set these bounderies  but consistency has paid off.  Now I can be on the couch with both dogs and a cat may choose to come up for cuddles.
When I choose a puppy from our planned litter.  I will be looking for a puppy with pack drive. I will not choose the pushy one nor the quiet one but the one who wants to get along.
This is what I place my highest value.  What do you place your highest value?   Plan to have the animals with behaviors that reflect that values.
